N.R.Prashanth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Technology from the University of Mysore was associated with Dr. Raja Ramanna at The National Institute for Advanced Studies.

Prashanth is versatile both as a performer and teacher of Carnatic music. He has performed concerts in India and countries like Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. He was a faculty at The Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, Singapore during the years 2001-2007.

Prashanth had his initial tutelage from Ganakala Bhushana Sri R.K.Padmanabha and was then groomed by Sangeetha Kalacharya late Sri Tittai Krishna Iyengar.

Prashanth is presently under the able guidance of Sangeetha Kala Samragni Smt. Neela Ramgopal.

He was awarded a scholarship by the Dept. of Culture, New Delhi to work on rare compositions of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshithar.

He has won the Kanaka Dasa award and has many recordings to his credit.

Prashanth has performed Eka Raga concerts and has been successful delivering Lecture-Demonstrations on various topics in Music.
